Class Expectations
Classwork and Homework
Completion of work is very important in our class! Students are expected to complete their work in class, or can be taken home and completed if necessary. The passing rate for classwork and assessments is a 70%. If a 70% is not received, you are given a reteaching of the concept, and another chance to complete to assignment!
In my class, I do not assign homework. I believe their time at home is meant for family, activities and rest! I do require you read 20 minutes each night and record that reading in your reading log! What you choose to read is up to you! It can be digital, magazines, books, it is your choice! Any work that is taken home to be done, is incomplete work from that day in class. Any incomplete work, reading logs, or absent work may result in a point deduction or loss of privilege. We work hard so we can play hard! Absences
It is important to be on time and present each day! If you are absent, you will be given 2 days to complete the missing work! You are required to gather your own missing work from your folder and take it home! I will provide you specific directions. Example: if you miss a Monday, you will receive your work Tuesday, and it is due on Thursday!

Behavior
At Joe Lee Johnson we pride ourselves on The Three B's.
Be Safe - with your actions Be Respectful - with your words Be Responsible - with your things In our classroom, we will always strive to be the best version of ourselves! Our class will create their very own social contract, where we choose how we want to conduct ourselves. To break the social contract is a choice. It is something we may all experience. We will always try our hardest to make things right and make the best choices we can! It may result in a loss of privilege, but it will always result in a lesson learned. Healthy Snack
You may bring a clean/healthy snack and water (no juice or soda) to school everyday! Having a healthy snack increases our focus and keeps us awake.
